The branding process
Whether you’re new to the world of branding or an old hand, it’s reassuring to know what to expect when working with a designer. After all, it’s an important investment in your business. That’s why I aim to be as transparent as possible. Here I’ve outlined every step of my process for my most popular ‘Branding essentials’ package..

The first step for every project is to discuss the design brief. This is to establish your objective and aspirations, deliverables and budget. During this stage, it is good to have a short call so we can meet. I’ll talk you through the design process and answer any questions you may have. If you decide I am a good fit for your business.

Next, I will ask you to complete a short discovery questionnaire so that I can learn more about your business, aspirations, dream clients and market competitors.

Based on the insight and inspiration gained through the discovery process and my own research, I will then get stuck into the design process. This involves moodboarding, sketching and lots of experimentation to really explore all creative directions. I then narrow this down to three options, which will include a colour and black-and-white logo, social media logo and mock-ups of some of the agreed design deliverables.

I will present the three design options either in person or by video call. It’s great to hear feedback straight away, but I will also give you the time after our meeting to collate your thoughts and come back to me.

Based on your feedback, I will then make refinements to the designs. Once we have a solution that you are delighted with, I will get to work designing the other brand experience deliverables that you require.

Once the final designs have been finessed and signed off, the artwork will be sent over and delivered in all formats for your website, social media or print. I can also provide a brand book telling your brand’s visual story through fonts, colours, photography style and graphics. If you need printed brand experience items, I can guide you through the print process, too – using eco-friendly suppliers to suit your budget. I’ll send you my final invoice and voila – it’s time to celebrate your new visual identity!
